DO I HAVE TO HAVE DANCE EXPERIENCE?

No. Step Right Studios Studio welcomes dancers of all ages and abilities. We believe EVERYONE has the right to dance at Step Right!

 

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH LEVEL OF CLASS TO TAKE?

Age guidelines are included in our timetable, however if you are still unsure please email us at info@steprightdance.com to receive more information.

 

DO I HAVE TO PARTICIPATE IN PERFORMANCES?

It is not compulsory to participate in our mid year or end of year concerts. Although not compulsory, we do encourage all dancers to perform in our dance concerts. This helps dancers build confidence and show off their skills they have learnt throughout the year.

 

WILL I BE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE COSTUMES?

There are no costumes used for our mid year showcase. Students wear Step Right Studios uniforms.  If you perform in the annual dance concert, costumes are purchased by Step Right Studios and the cost of these costumes are oncharged to the Parent/Guardian.

 

WHAT IF MY CHILD WANTS TO PERFORM MORE OFTEN?

Then our Development Team is perfect for you. Here our students perform at adhoc local community events and get to perform in front of varying audiences showcasing their love of dance without any pressures of competing. Contact our admin to see how to join our Development Team

DO YOU HAVE A COMPETITIVE DANCE TEAM?

Yes. Our Performance Team competes at approximately 4 local eisteddfods and various community events. Step Right Studios Performance Team is by Invitation Only and the best pathway to Performance Team is by joining our Development Team.

 

ARE PRIVATE LESSONS AVAILABLE?

Yes, if you want improve your skills quickly private lessons are a fantastic option. Contact our admin team to find an available time slot to suit you.

 

IS THERE A REGISTRATION FEE?

Yes, a registration fee is applicable to all new enrolments.

 

DO YOU RUN CLASSES ALL YEAR?

We run weekly timetabled classes based around the four QLD school terms which generally work out to be 10 week terms for Prep ages and up. Our Preschool classes run an extra week in term 1,2 & 3 often making them an 11 week term

 

DO YOU RUN CLASSES ON PUBLIC HOLIDAYS?

Yes excluding ANZAC day or any public holidays that fall on the first day of term.

 

DO YOU RUN CLASSES ON SCHOOL PUPIL FREE DAYS?

Yes, we run classes on school pupil free days excluding those that fall on the first day of term

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR?

The Step Right Studios uniform can be purchased directly through the studio.

 

DO I HAVE TO WEAR DANCE SHOES?

Dance shoes are important to wear whilst dancing to give correct support and stability for the dancer wearing them. Although not immediately required to start a class Danza Sorella sells all dance attire and footwear at the studio for your convenience at a 10% discount to Step Right Studios members.

 

CAN PARENTS OBSERVE CLASS?

Yes! At the end of some terms we have Open Week! During this week we welcome parent/caregivers in to observe their dancer’s classes and ask questions regarding the class and their dancer’s progress

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS A CLASS? 

If you miss one of your scheduled classes please be in touch with the administrative staff. They will arrange a make-up class for you to attend in another time slot in any other class within the same level during that term.

 

HOW DO YOU COMMUNICATE INFORMATION ABOUT StepRight TO PARENTS AND GUARDIANS? 

There are a few ways that you will get information about classes and key information about Step Right Studios. Our main system of communication is via our BAND – our class video sharing app. You will be given access to our closed environment upon enrolment. Email will also be a back up source of communication and which is where you will receive your term invoices – these are also visible via our ThinkSmart parent portal. If we need to send out more urgent messages we will send the information via text. Other sources of information can be found on our public facebook and instagram accounts or our members facebook group.
